Conference: New Technologies_New Media in Art and Art Education

This two-day conference aimed at gathering in one place artists and professors from art academies from Mid-
and Eastern Europe, to present the activities of their academies and faculties in the application of new media in art, and to motivate the exchange of experiences between professors, artists and students. The participants were: Zoltan Szegedy Maszak (Department of Multimedia Art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest; C3 – Centre for Culture and Communications, Budapest), Michael Bielicky (Department of New Media at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague), Gisela Domschke (Department of Cultural Studies at Goldsmiths College in London), Ivan Ladislav Galeta (Department of Media Art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb), Dejan Grba (Interdisciplinary Graduate Studies at the University of Art in Belgrade), Dan Oki (Department for the Design of Visual Communications at the Art Academy in Split), Hermen Maat (Department for Media Art, Art Academy Minerva in Groningen), Izabella Gustowska (Art Adacemy in Poznanj, Poland), and Martine Neddam (Royal Academy of Visual Arts in Amsterdam).

The moderator of the conference was Dan Oki (Slobodan Jokić), artist and professor of
New Media at the Art Academy in Split.

The conference was supported by: the city of Velika Gorica, the Ministry of Culture of Croatia, the Royal Netherlands Embassy and Filip Trade d.o.o.
